Social Media Image Locator

The social-media image locator is a tool intended for healthcare providers in order to catalogue and showcase images of their facilities that have been shared online by members of the public. It has a range of flexible sort, filter, and search options in order to allow users to find specific images relevant to them.

Social media posts and comments about a hospital can be a key indicator of potential issues across a range of areas, and the ability to review images in this way can give healthcare providers timely insight into common problems that need addressing.

Technology

The front-end is build with Next.js, with the data being ingested into DynamoDB and indexed in OpenSearch. The AWS infrastructure (which includes the front-end) is part of a CDK stack allowing us to manage the full stack of the application in a monorepo.

My role

My work included planning and building the site's cloud infrastructure, as well as designing and building the front-end UI.
